Japan exports fall as trade deficit narrows

Tokyo, Rabi’I 6, 1437, Dec 17, 2015, SPA — Japan logged a reduced trade deficit of 379.7 billion yen (3.1 billion dollars) in November, even as exports fell at the fastest rate in three years, dpa cited the Ministry of Finance as saying Thursday.

The deficit was less than half the figure from the same period last

Exports however fell 3.3 per cent to 5.98 trillion yen, and imports
dropped sharply by 10.2 per cent to 6.36 trillion yen, according
to preliminary data.

Japan’s trade surplus with the United States shrank 2.3 per cent to
569.8 billion yen. Exports were up 2.0 per cent and imports were up
6.1 per cent.
