Sudanese Foreign Minister Praises Qatar’s Support to Sudan

Doha, – Sudan’s Foreign Minister Ibrahim Ghandour described the visit HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani will pay on Wednesday to Sudan to participate in the celebration of the completion of the enforcement of Doha Document for Peace in Darfur (DDPD)’s articles as “historic” and affirms Qatar’s permanent commitment to its Arab-Arab relations.

In an interview with (Al Raya) Qatari newspaper published Tuesday, the Sudanese Foreign Minister said the visit confirms that Qatar and Sudan will continue to strengthen bilateral relations, which witnessed a remarkable development, and will work together for peace and security in the region, under the auspices of the two countries’ leaderships.

Ghandour stressed that Qatar has played an active role in the Arab world by converging views between the parties and resolving issues of regional and international conflicts thanks to the wisdom of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, adding that Qatar’s role is well known in the Arab region.

He pointed to the leading role that has been played by Qatar in order to lay the foundations of security, stability and development in Darfur, stressing that it is a big role and resulted in the signing of the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur, as Qatar hosted the peace negotiations which lasted for years.

The Sudanese Foreign Minister praised the efforts undertaken by HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud reach the Doha Document which contributed to the stability and development of Darfur.

He also said that Qatar played pioneer efforts in the development in Sudan, praising the supporting stances of the Qatari leadership towards Sudan in all regional and international forums.
