Qatar Condemns Bombing Targeting Humanitarian Aid Convoy near Aleppo

Doha, – The State of Qatar condemned and denounced the bombing which targeted a convoy of humanitarian aid near the Syrian city of Aleppo.

In a statement today, the Foreign Ministry said that the targeting of humanitarian convoy is a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and human rights law, and blatant encroachment of the ceasefire agreement announced recently in order to deliver humanitarian aid to besieged Syrian cities.

The statement urged the international community to shoulder its responsibilities in order to put an end to a series of inhuman violations and crimes committed by the regime in Syria, pointing to the repeated endeavors to thwart and breach the agreement which underline the lack of seriousness about a political solution and playing with people’s lives.

The statement called for the need to find a comprehensive and lasting political solution to end the crisis and alleviate the suffering of the Syrian people, according to Geneva-1 statement.
