5 MILITANTS KILLED IN BALOCHISTAN PROVINCE IN PAKISTAN

Islamabad, – At least five armed militants were killed today during an exchange of fire with security forces in Balochistan province, south west of Pakistan, according to The Express Tribune reported.

Local sources said that two security officers were also injured during the exchange that occurred in Huramzai of Pishin district located in Balochistan province.

Last October, over 60 security personnel were killed and 165 others injured as armed militants stormed into New Sariab Police Training College near Quetta, the provincial capital of Balochistan.

Pakistan has been battling insurgency since shortly after it decided to ally with the US following its invasion of Afghanistan in 2001. However, the remnants of militant groups are still able to carry out periodic bloody attacks.
