Doha to Host “Art for Tomorrow” International Conference in March

Doha, Doha will host the third edition of the annual international conference “Art for Tomorrow”, organized by the New York Times and sponsored by Qatar Museums, from March 10 to 13, 2017.

Over 200 world-renowned art and cultural influencers from more than 20 countries, including museum directors, gallerists, curators, auction houses, collectors, entrepreneurs, investors, financial institutions, lawyers, artists, architects, designers, urban planners, government officials and tourism organizations will take part in the conference.

The conference will investigate the issues that occupy the territory between art and public life. New boundaries, where and why art follows the rules or challenges them, and art’s role in creating and influencing personal, corporate, urban and national identities will all be explored. The event will also examine the role of art as a catalyst for economic growth and development, as well as a mechanism for city or corporate branding.

The conference will also offer an experiential dimension, including outings to an art lab, exhibitions, a desert trip, and museum tours.

The Capital Doha also hosted the second edition of the “Art for Tomorrow” conference with an overall theme of ‘Technology, Creativity and the City’ in March 2016.
