Qatar Stock Exchange Index Gains 48.33 Points This Week

Doha, Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) gained 48.33 points (0.44 percent) week when the bourse closed Thursday afternoon at 10,989.76 points.

Trading value during this week decreased by 15.14 percent to reach QR 1,364,659,231.44 compared to QR 1,608,208,203.36.

Trading volume decreased by 9.60 percent to reach 44,585,405 shares, as against 49,317,570 shares, while the number of transactions fell by 13.95 percent, to reach 16,826 transactions as compared to 19,553 transactions.

Market capitalization rose by 0.43 percent to reach QR 588,411,442,910.01 as compared to QR 585,896,523,456.44 at the end of previous week.

Banking and financial services sector led traded value this week with 35.31 percent of the total traded value. Real estate sector accounted for 24.01 percent. Industries sector accounted for 14.05 percent and consumer goods and services sector accounted 11.20 percent.

Real estate sector led traded volume this week with 36.98 percent of the total traded volume. Banking and financial services sector accounted for 24.82 percent. Telecoms sector accounted for 17.48 percent and industries sector accounted 10.21 percent.

Banking and financial services sector led traded number of transactions this week with 37.01 percent of the total number of transactions. Real estate sector which accounted for 22.69 percent. Industries sector accounted for 15.40 percent and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 10.55 percent.

From the 44 listed companies 19 ended this week higher, while 22 fell and three unchanged.

Masraf Al Rayan led trading value during this week accounted for 9.18 percent of the total traded value. Barwa Real Estate accounted for 8.42 percent and Mazaya Qatar accounted for 8.19 percent.
