Ministry of Awqaf Launches New Heritage Books

Doha, July 26 (QNA) – On the sidelines of its Ramadan Tent activities, The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has launched  three  new editions of Islamic heritage books namely Al-Tabsira on Maliki jurisprudence (Fiqh) by Imam Abul Hassan bin Ali Al-Lakhmi Al-Qayrawani, Sahih Al-Athar by Ibn Qarqoul and Kitab Al-Sunan by Ibn Shuaib Al-Nasa’i.
The three new editions are the latest to be published  by Department of Islamic Heritage Revival and Scientific Research at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs which is seeking to present  Islamic heritage books through cooperation with book researchers, and scientific research offices.(QNA)

Ashghal to Partially Close Grand Hamad Street

Doha, July 26 (QNA) – The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) announced Thursday a partial closure of Grand Hamad Street will be effective from July 29 to October 24. 
 One lane of the street in the direction from the Corniche towards Airport Street shall be closed at the stretch between Al Ahmed Intersection and Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Thani Street Intersection, Ashghal said on its website today.
 The traffic diversion is for the completion of the drainage pipeline extension works on the street.
   Ashghal appeals all commuters to abide by the traffic guidelines to ensure safety and it apologized for the inconvenience. (QNA)

Qatar Exchange Down 0.06%

Doha, July 25 (QNA) – The Qatar Exchange was down on Wednesday 17.28 points or 0.21% to 8,232.01 points from the previous closing of 8,249.29. The volume of shares traded was up to 4,028,703 from 3,566,430 Tuesday, and the value of shares increased to QR152,877,324.68 from QR128,753,662.18 Tuesday. Among the top losers were Industries Qatar whose share dropped 0.91% to QR131.10 , Qatar Telecom lost 0.68 to QR103.00, Barwa Real Estate fell 0.91% to QR27.25 and Doha Bank down 0.54% to QR55.70.
Among the top gainers were Qatar National Bank which was up 0.38% to QR131.50, Electricity and Water rose 0.83% to QR134.00 and Islamic Insurance gained 2.52% to QR61.10.
 Today the Qatar Banking and Financial sector added 1.34 points while the Insurance sector gained 4.05 points. The Qatar industrial sector lost 5.36 points and the Services sector up 2.73 points. (QNA)
