Hazza Bin Zayed attends wedding

ABU DHABI: H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor and Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council today attended the wedding ceremony of Mana’ Saeed Abdullah Salim Al Falasi to the daughter of Abdullah Muhair Mahyan Al Ketbi.

Also in attendance at the wedding ceremony at the Armed Forces Officers Club were sheikhs, senior officials and diplomats.

Regulations on possession of pet animals in Ajman

Ajman: Chairman of Ajman Municipality ‘&’ Planning Department Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi has issued local resolution no. 4 on regulating possession of domestic pet animals like cats and dogs.

According to the resolution, it shall be illegal to possess a pet animal in the emirate of Ajman without obtaining a license from the Department’s Administration of Public Health and Environment, which is granted after furnishing all required documents.

Under the resolution, owners of pet animals shall ensure that animals are kept in a villa house with a yard. It is prohibited to keep a pet animal in an apartment. Owners are also prohibited from taking their pet animals to shopping malls, public places, public parks, restaurants, coffee shops, cinemas and public transport buses.

Body of Emirati missing child found in River Nile

ABU DHABI: The body of Emirati boy Hamad Abdullah Al-Ali was found today at 1 pm, UAE local time, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry Juma Mubarak Al-Jenaibi stated.

The boy fell into River Nile on the evening of Friday 7 September 2012, he said.

The UAE Embassy in Cairo is taking procedures, overseen directly by the Ambassador of the UAE, to transport the body of the dead boy to the UAE as soon as possible, he added.

The official prayed to The Almighty to bestow mercy of the soul of the dead boy and to bestow patience on his family bear the loss.

KZHF takes medical aid to Yemen

Al Mukalla: The Khalifa Bin Zayed Humanitarian Foundation has delivered a number of vital medical equipments to the Al Mukalla maternity hospital in Yemen.

Attending the handover ceremony, the governor of Hadramout province Khalid Saeed Al Deeni hailed the efforts of KZHF in helping the Yemeni people.

The medical equipments were handed over through the UAE embassy in Yemen. Ambassador Abdullah Matar Al Mazroui lauded the fast response of KZHF in times of humanitarian needs in Yemen.

Rotana Jet announces Domestic Service expansion from Abu Dhabi International Airport

ABU DHABI: Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) and Rotana Jet announced today the launch of double daily services to Fujairah, Al Ain and Sharjah from Abu Dhabi International Airport, in an initiative from the airline to extend its domestic route network. This comes just three months after it launched the first domestic scheduled flight in UAE to Sir Bani Yas and Delma Island.

The announcement was made at a joint press briefing at Abu Dhabi International Airport in presence of Sheikh Ahmed bin Saif Al Nahyan, Chairman of Rotana Jet, Ahmed Al Hadabi, CEO of Airports Operations at ADAC and Mohamed Abdulla Sultan Al Salami, Chairman of Civil Aviation for the Government of Fujairah.

Effective 19th September 2012, Rotana Jet will be operating 2 flights a day between Abu Dhabi International airport and Fujairah. Double Daily Flights to Al Ain will commence on the 20th September 2012 and flights to Sharjah will follow. These routes will be operated by Embraer ERJ145 aircraft with 50 seats and comfortable 31″ seat pitch.

Commenting on this new service, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saif Al Nahyan, Chairman of Rotana Jet, says: “Air connectivity is a key component of any country’s development. At Rotana Jet, we are committed in developing a safe, reliable, and efficient air transport connecting the various emirates of UAE with the capital to improve easy accessibility both domestically and internationally. For his part, Al Salami said the strategic location of Fujairah International Airport on the UAE’s eastern coast and the accelerating development plans for passenger and cargo traffic reflect the increasing industrial, commercial and tourist importance of the emirate.

On this new service launched at Abu Dhabi international Airport, Ahmed Al Hadabi, CEO for Airports Operations of ADAC, said: “Abu Dhabi Airports Company sees the necessity of connecting the Capital’s airport, one of the main aviation hubs in the region, with the other key airports across the Emirates, to further develop connectivity not only for Abu Dhabi but for the whole of the UAE. ADNEC welcomes two industry veterans to sales team

ABU DHABI: Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Company (ADNEC) today announced the appointment of two senior members to its sales- exhibition and conference team.

Following the resignation of Christina Anthony, the Sales Director – Exhibitions, ADNEC today announced that Greg Cherry joined ADNEC on 9th of September as the Director of Sales-Exhibition, brings over 15 years of experience in exhibitions and events across a variety of industry sectors including aviation, biotechnology and healthcare, defence and security and more recently new media.

Starting his career in sales and marketing, Greg moved into exhibitions and events holding director and executive level positions with global organisations. Most recently Greg has been Managing Director of Oxbow Media, a company specializing in the production and delivery of large scale events, PR and product launches and communication programmes to include clients such as Skype and Expedia.

ADNEC also announced the appointment of Robin Miller as the Director of Sales -Conferences and Events. Robin has a wealth of both academic knowledge and professional experience, lecturing at both Strathclyde and Paisley Universities, and working at the Scottish Exhibition ‘&’ Conference Centre where he lately took the position of Head of Conference Sales, looking after all Association and Corporate business. Robin will be joining ADNEC on 16th September 2012.

15 Sep. deadline for Creative Sports Award’s nominations

DUBAI: Next Saturday 15 September is the deadline for applicants to submit their nominations for the fourth edition of the Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Creative Sports Award, the board of trustees of the award announced.

The extension aims to enable athletes who competed in the 2012 London Olympics and London 2012 Paralympics to include their achievements at the two events in their nominations to the award.

Launched in 2008 by Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to boost the sports sector and promote the culture of sport in the region, the award has recognised 61 individuals and sports corporations over the last three years.

Renowned athletes are expected to contest for the fourth edition of the award which is open to sportspeople not only in the UAE, but also to athletes and sports bodies around the world.

The Creative Sports Award is divided into three categories; individual sports creativity, team sports creativity, and corporate sports creativity.

UAE envoy thanks Egyptian authorities

Cairo: The UAE Ambassador to Egypt Mohammed bin Nakhira Al Dhaheri has extended thanks to the Egyptian authorities for the efforts made to recover body of the Emirati child who died in a tragic drowning accident when he fell into River Nile last Friday.

“The Egyptian (police) team spared no effort in search for the child’s body. We thank them for the efforts and for the facilities extended,” Al Dhaheri told today.

The body of the 6-year old Emirati boy Hamad Abdullah Al Ali was found today. The body will be transported to the UAE later this evening.

The boy fell into the water during a Nile cruise on Friday with his parents following rough waves that rocked the boat. The Egyptian frogmen began a massive search for the body which was found and recovered today.
