HE the Premier Meets Jordanian, Turkish, Omani Foreign Ministers

New York, September 28 (QNA) – HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani met today at the premises of the Qatari Permanent Mission to the UN with Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 67th UN General Assembly. They discussed bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest.

QMA Launch Exhibition in Japan to Celebrate Relations between the two countries

Tokyo, September 28 (QNA) – Under the title “Same-Same but Different: The Role of the Artist in the Arab World and Japan,” the Qatar Museum Authority launched Friday its exhibition in the Mori Art Museum (MAM) in Tokyo.
The exhibition is part of the series of events organized by the Qatar Museums Authority (QMA) to celebrate 40 years of diplomatic relations between Qatar and Japan.
CEO of QMA Mansoor Al Khater said that the event will introduce both parties, the Arab and Japanese, to each other’s art and the role it played in its respective society. Director of MAM Fumio Nanjo said that the exhibition reflected the distinguished bilateral relations between Qatar and Japan. He expressed his thanks as well to QMA for working on organizing the event.
Qatar is organizing a cultural event in Japan entitled Ferjaan in Tokyo. More than a 1000 people have visited the event since its launch. The event includes traditional Qatari music and dances in addition to traditional Qatari products ranging from clothes to Hena. There was also presentations on Qatar’s biggest institutions such as Qatar Airways and Al Jazeera English. Qatar Foundation (QF) also gave a presentation on its role in education, scientific research and human development in the State of Qatar. Chairman of Qatar Tourism Authority Issa Bin Mohammed Al Mohannadi, who is also the Vice Chairman of Doha Tribeca Film Festival, told Qatar News Agency (QNA) that the goal of the event was to introduce the Qatari heritage to the Japanese public. He added that the authority was looking to promote all of Qatar’s touristic spots whether the sports, business, cultural or recreational ones.
The event is held in Ropppongi Hills in a 1500m area. It looks similar in design to Katara in Doha. (QNA) 

معالي رئيس الوزراء يلتقي وزراء خارجية تركيا والأردن وعمان

نيويورك في 28 سبتمبر /قنا/ التقى معالي الشيخ حمد بن جاسم بن جبر آل ثاني رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الخارجية اليوم بمقر الوفد الدائم لدولة قطر في نيويورك سعادة السيد ناصر جوده وزير الخارجية في المملكة الاردنية الهاشمية وذلك على هامش اجتماعات الدورة ال 67 للجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة المنعقدة حالياً. 
تم خلال اللقاء بحث العلاقات الثنائية بين البلدين والقضايا ذات الإهتمام المشترك.

والتقى معالي رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الخارجية اليوم مع سعادة السيد أحمد داود أوغلو وزير خارجية الجمهورية التركية.
تم خلال اللقاء استعراض العلاقات الثنائية بين البلدين والقضايا المشترك.
كما التقى معالي الشيخ حمد بن جاسم بن جبر آل ثاني رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الخارجية اليوم بمقر الوفد الدائم لدولة قطر سعادة السيد يوسف بن علوي بن عبدالله الوزير المسؤول عن الشؤون الخارجية في سلطنة عمان الشقيقة وذلك على هامش اجتماعات الدورة ال 67 للجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة المنعقدة حالياً في نيويورك.

Qatar and Al Khor Draw 2-2 in Qatar Stars League

Doha, September 28 (QNA) – Qatar Sports Club drew 2-2 with its host Al Khor, in the match played Friday in Al Khor stadium in the third stage of Qatar Stars League (QSL). Al Khor raised its points tally to five from three games, Qatar on the other hand earned its first point this season. The latter was two goals clear after a strong start. Two goals in three minutes by Moussa Al Alaq, in the 16th minute, and Mohammed Razaq, in the 19th, gave Qatar a comfortable lead. Mohammed Joma’a pulled one back for Al Khour in the 45th minute before Hassan Abd Al Fatah scored the equalizer at the fifth minute of added on time. (QNA)

Al Sadd Win Over Umm Salal in QSL

Doha, September 28 (QNA) – Al Sadd on Friday crushed Umm Salal 2-0 to stay unbeaten in the third round of the Qatar Stars League (QSL). Raul opened the scoring in the 25th minute and then later in the second half, the Spaniard orchestrated a neat move to help Hassan Al Haydos score the second in the 87th minute.
Former Real Madrid giant Raul produced a well-time snap-header off a corner kick jumping high in the air to deflect the ball into the net in the 25th minute.
It was the 35-year-old Spaniard’s third goal of the season. Raul fired two goals in the match against Qatar SC on September 23.
Watched by Qatar national coach Paulo Autuori, Al Sadd dominated played against Umm Salal who looked short on quality up front. Khalfan Ibrahim was benched in the 74th minute by coach Hussain Amute. Al Haydos in the 87th minute provided a calm finish to a one-two pass from Raul inside Umm Salal box. Also on Friday, Al Khor played a 2-2 draw against Qatar SC.
Madgid Mousa (16) and Mohammed Razzaq (19) scored for Qatar SC while Mohammed Juma (47) and Hassan Fataah (90+5) helped Al Khor manage a draw. After Friday’s draw, Qatar SC is still without a win in three games. Qatar lost to Al Rayyan and Al Sadd in the earlier two matches.
Al Khor beat Al Kharaitiyat on September 15 before playing a draw against Al Arabi last week. (QNA)

HE Ambassador Hails ‘Qatar Week: Ferjaan in Tokyo’

Tokyo, September 28 (QNA) – HE Qatar’s Ambassador to Japan Yousef Bin Mohammed Bilal has described ‘Qatar Week: Ferjaan in Tokyo’ as a nice event, especially as it came within the Qatar-Japan 2012 festive to mark the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Qatar and Japan, and is being held after two years of great effort to ensure a successful event.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), HE the Ambassador lauded Qatar Museums Authority, institutions and companies that made this painstaking effort, and praised the Japanese side for his help in all phases of preparation for the event. “Everyone has contributed and helped much in making this event a success,” he said, adding that the diversity witnessed in the Qatar Week activities have a positive impact in the success and effectiveness of the event.
He added that the Heritage Village reflected modern Qatari culture through a historically accurate representation, underlining that the Japanese people are open minded and love other cultures. The Japanese people, he said, attach great respect for the State of Qatar’s government and people due to the strong and distinctive relations with Japan, especially after HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani’s decision to donate, on behalf of the Government and people of the State of Qatar, $100 million as Qatar’s contribution to relief efforts for the victims of the devastating earthquake that hit Japan in 2011, which caused thousands of deaths and displaced persons and inflicted enormous material losses. HE Al Attiyah Attends Ceremony Held by Doha Film Institute

Tokyo, September 28 (QNA) – HE Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Attiyah, the Chairman of the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority and the Chairman of Qatar-Japan Joint Higher Committee, attended today a banquet organized by Doha Film Institute as part of the ongoing Qatar Week: Ferjaan in Tokyo.
The ceremony was attended by a number of ambassadors and heads of GCC and Arab diplomatic missions accredited to Japan in addition to senior officials of Doha Film Institute.  
Issa Mohammed Al Mohannadi, Deputy Chairman of Doha Tribeca Film Festival and Chairman of Qatar Tourism Authority said, “On behalf of HE Chairperson of Doha Film Institute Sheikha Al Mayassa Bint Hamad Al Thani, I would like to welcome all of you to this unique evening and thank you for joining us in this ceremony held in honor of HE Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah.”
Al Mohannadi lauded the efforts of HE Al Attiyah in enhancing the relationship between Qatar and Japan, which since its inception resulted in creating numerous strategic partnerships in trade and business and enhanced cultural ties between both countries, adding that the organization of Qatar Week: Ferjaan in Tokyo is a good example. 
Al Mohannadi said that the Doha Film Institute, in collaboration with the Qatar Museums Authority, the Museum of Islamic Art and the Japanese Embassy in Qatar, introduced Japanese culture through the presentation of a series of classic and contemporary Japanese films in Doha.
He added that Doha Film Institute will showcase two films: Hala’ La Wain? (Where Do We Go Now?) by Lebanese director Nadine Labaki and Sea Shadow by UAE director Nawaf Al Janahi.
The event was attended by HE Qatar’s Ambassador to Japan Yousef Bin Mohammad Bilal and the delegation accompanying HE the Chairman of the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority. (QNA)

Sudanese Minister of Justice Leaves Doha

Doha, September 28 (QNA) – Sudanese Minister of Justice Mohamed Bushara Dossa ,left Doha on Friday evening wrapping up a several days’ visit to Qatar. During the visit, HE Minister of Justice Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim conferred with his Sudanese counterpart Mohamed Bishara Dossa, on ways of strengthening relations between Qatar and Sudan, particularly in legislative and legal areas.
The Sudanese minister and his accompanying delegation were seen off upon departure at Doha International Airport by a number of senior officials of the Ministry of Justice and Sudan’s Ambassador to Qatar HE Yasser Khider Khalafallah. (QNA)
