Qatar Stock Exchange Index Gains 48.49 Points This Week

Doha, – Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) index gained 48.49 points (+0.47%) this week when the bourse closed Thursday afternoon at 10,438.45 points. Trading value during this week increased by 8.29% to reach QR 901,812,471.68 compared to QR832,746,281.87.

Trading volume decreased by 4.93% to reach 22,730,856 shares, as against 23,909,762 shares, while the number of transactions rose by 19.38%, to reach 12,835 transactions as compared to 10,751 transactions. Market capitalization rose by 0.79% to reach QR 562,553,461,892.20 as compared to QR 558,124,577,815.83 at the end of previous week.

Banking and Financial Services sector led traded value this week with 37.41% of the total traded value. Industries sector accounted for 19.45%. Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 14.52% and Transportation sector accounted 9.54%.

Banking and Financial Services sector led traded volume this week with 33.02% of the total traded volume. Telecoms sector accounted for 20.82%. Real Estate sector accounted for 17.14% and Industries sector accounted 14.31%. Banking and Financial Services sector led traded number of transactions this week with 35.4% of the total number of transactions. Industries sector accounted for 17.69%. Real Estate sector accounted for 12.08% and Transportation sector accounted for 11.56%. From the 44 listed companies 14 ended this week higher, while 30 fell.

The Qatari Investors Group led trading value during this week accounted for 11.25% of the total traded value. QNB accounted for 10.39% and Medicare Group accounted for 8.13%.
