Qatar Stock Exchange Index Drops 7.87 Points This Week

Doha, Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) index lost 7.87 points (-0.07 percent) this week when the bourse closed Thursday afternoon at 10,709.47 points.

Trading value during this week decreased by 4.75% to reach QR 1,075,629,561.89 compared to QR 1,129,312,652.16.

Trading volume decreased by 4.65% to reach 37,342,026 shares, as against 39,164,373 shares, while the number of transactions rose by 10.68%, to reach 16,570 transactions as compared to 14,971 transactions.

Market capitalization rose by 0.09% to reach QR 576,299,428,537.85 as compared to QR 575,797,476,817.71 at the end of previous week.

Banking and Financial Services sector led traded value this week with 30.52% of the total traded value. Industries sector accounted for 24.90%. Real Estate sector accounted for 19.41% and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted 9.71%.

Banking and Financial Services sector led traded volume this week with 30.81% of the total traded volume. Real Estate sector accounted for 27.57%. Telecoms sector accounted for 19.56% and Industries sector accounted 14.05%.

Banking and Financial Services sector led traded number of transactions this week with 29.9% of the total number of transactions. Industries sector accounted for 29.75%. Real Estate sector accounted for 15.90% and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 10.24%.

From the 44 listed companies 25 ended this week higher, while 17 fell and two unchanged.

Industries Qatar led traded value this week accounted for 15.42% of the total traded value. Barwa Real Estate accounted for 6.98% and Vodafone Qatar accounted for 6.28%.
