Qatar to Participate in Astana Expo 2017

Doha, The State of Qatar signed today a contract to participate in the Expo 2017 in Astana, which will take place from June 10 to September 1 under the theme of future energy.

Qatar’s Ambassador in Kazakhstan Ahmed bin Ali Abdulrahman Altamimi signed the contract on the Qatari side. The Ministry of Economy and Commerce released a statement today from the committee charged with preparing for the Expo and said that it has finished its preparation for the international event. The committee was formed in December 2015 and has placed many planes and programs for the event in Astana. It held a series of meetings with different authorities to discuss what should the Qatari section have during the event.

The Qatari section will be 457 meters squared and will show a number of successful experiments in the energy and new energy fields. It will also attempt to reflect Qatar National Vision 2030’s strategy for diversifying energy sources and the main challenges that face the sector in Qatar.

More than five million visitors are expected to visit the Expo this year.
