Qatar Stock Exchange Index Drops 151.75 Points

Doha- Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) lost 151.75 points (-1.48%) this week when the bourse closed Thursday afternoon at 10,089.86 points.

Trading value during this week increased by 18.63% to reach QR 1,150,739,799.19 compared to QR 970,058,213.57.

Trading volume decreased by 0.09% to reach 45,053,762 shares, as against 45,094,215 shares, while the number of transactions rose by 16.84%, to reach 15,968 transactions as compared to 13,667 transactions.

Market capitalization fell by 1.72% to reach QR 542,725,491,694.30 as compared to QR 552,221,622,686.71 at the end of previous week.

Banking and Financial Services sector led traded value this week with 36.95% of the total traded value. Real Estate sector accounted for 17.41%. Telecoms sector accounted for 14.60% and Industries sector accounted for 13.72%.

Banking and Financial Services sector led traded volume this week with 29.68% of the total traded volume. Telecoms sector accounted for 29.47%. Real Estate sector accounted for 24.66% and Transportation sector accounted 6.19%.

Banking and Financial Services sector led traded number of transactions this week with 32.8% of the total number of transactions. Industries sector accounted for 24.87%. Real Estate sector accounted for 13.43% and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 10.55%.

From the 44 listed companies 14 ended this week higher, while 28 fell and two unchanged.

Vodafone Qatar led trading value during this week accounted for 10.66% of the total trading value. QNB accounted for 8.50% and Industries Qatar accounted for 7.91%.
