Washington, – Gulf-US Intellectual Activities, organized by the foreign information departments in the GCC countries, began today in Washington under the theme “Gulf Media Action” and will continue until 12 May.

The events were initiated by the first symposiums at the Institute of American Studies under the title “US-Gulf relations”, which was attended by a number of Gulf experts, and witnessed a large presence of participants.

The event will include eight seminars in eight American intellectual and research centers that will deal with Gulf-American relations in various aspects, especially economy, energy and politics. It will also address the fight against terrorism, the development of women’s rights in the Gulf and the Yemeni issue with the participation of specialized experts from the GCC.

The State of Qatar is participating in three seminars in which Secretary-General of the National Commission for Education, Culture and Science Dr. Hamda Al Sulaiti, will talk about the development of the rights of Gulf women; Economic Advisor to the Ministry of Economy Dr. Khalid Al Derbasti will talk about the economic reforms in the GCC countries, and economic analyst at the Energy Department in the Ministry of Energy and Industry, Fahad Al Kuwari will talk about the great development of the energy sector in the Gulf The Gulf Media Action Program is being implemented pursuant to the decision of the GCC Information Ministers on the move of the foreign media through the research and intellectual centers in the United States and Europe to convey the correct media message regarding the positions and issues of concern to GCC countries.
