NCUSAR Hosts “Economic Dynamics of U.S.-GCC Relations” Symposium

Washington, Sha’ban 13, 1438, May 09, 2017, SPA — The National Council for US-Arab Relations (NCUSAR) and the U.S.-GCC Corporate Cooperation Committee hosted a symposium on “Economic Dynamics of U.S.-GCC Relations” in Washington yesterday.
The symposium featured President of Joatha Business Development Constants Dr. Ihsan Bu-Hulaiga, Director General of Al-Dukheil Financial Group Khlood Al-Dukheil, and Senior Investment and Economic Consultant from the State of Qatar Khaled Alderbesti.
Dr. Ihsan Bu-Hulaiga analyzed the role of the Gulf States in the international system, looking beyond GCC relations with the United States and examining ties with other key countries. Bu-Hulaiga also stressed the importance of U.S. relations with the GCC to achieve sweeping change in the region.
Meanwhile, Khlood Al-Dukheil described the financial shift in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a “silent storm of change and transformation.” She said, “Through Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, the government intends to provide better opportunities for partnerships with the private sector, and the government intends to increase foreign direct investment into the Kingdom.”
For his part, Senior Investment and Economic Consultant from the State of Qatar Khaled Alderbesti discussed GCC economic development and its effect on the U.S. economy.
