Riyadh – The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani met here on Thursday with the executive Manager of Arab Gulf Program for Development (AGFUND) Nasser Al Qahtani.

During the meeting, they discussed means to promote cooperation and coordination between the GCC and AGFUND.

Al Zayani praised the important humanitarian role played by AGFUND to promote economic and social development in developing countries and its efforts to support human development efforts through various development programs and projects carried out in cooperation with international and regional development organizations.

The GCC Secretary-General also met with experts from the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) , where they discussed areas of joint cooperation with regard to supporting of the economic development and social progress of the GCC countries in order to achieve the objectives of the GCC joint action in this field.

Al Zayani lauded the important role played by the IDB in promoting the economic and social development in the member countries of the Bank, and all Islamic societies by supporting and financing various development projects in addition to the many activities and programs carried out in cooperation with countries to achieve sustainable economic growth.
