German industrial production rebounds in April

Berlin, Ramadan 13, 1438, June 08, 2017, SPA — German industrial production rebounded strongly in
April, signalling a solid start to the second quarter for Europe’s
biggest economy, dpa reported.
Output rose by a larger-than forecast 0.8 per cent in April after contracting by 0.1 per cent in March, the Ministry for Economic Affairs said on Thursday.
Analysts had forecast a more modest 0.5-per-cent gain in April.
“The German economic recovery has entered its ninth year and there are no signs that this recovery could come to an abrupt halt,” said ING Bank chief economist for Germany Carsten Brzeski.
Year on year, industrial production rose by nearly 3 per cent in April compared with 2.2 per cent in March.
