ACHIEVING MORE FLEXIBLE DURATIONS TO RENEW COMMERCIAL REGISTRATIONS

The Advisory Council, in its regular weekly session, discussed yesterday the amendments related to some of the provisions of the Law No 25 of 2005 regarding the commercial registration.

The session’s chairman HE Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al-Mahmoud explained that the law limited the duration of the commercial registration between one and five years maximum, noting that this short duration doesn’t achieve the required investment goal targeted by the government due to the implications related to renewing the commercial registration.

Al-Mahmoud added that this amendment would achieve more flexibility, as it doesn’t specify a certain duration, and thus, the duration has become flexible, depending on the type of commercial registration.
