AL-MANAIE: CAA HAS PLANS TO DEVELOP METEOROLOGY DEVICES AT HIA

Abdullah al-Manaie, Director of the Meteorology Department at the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), clarified that the Department has comprehensive plans to update and develop and the technology of the devices used by the Analysis and Forecast Section.

He pointed out that the development includes the aviation meteorology devices at Hamad International Airport (HIA), in addition to the ones of the General Forecast Office in floor no.6 at the CAA tower.

Al-Manaie further said that the CAA is planning to install the new weather radar, affirming that work is underway to formulate the new civil aviation law and update its clauses, in collaboration with the Legal Affairs Department of the CAA, in order to keep up with the developments in the meteorology sciences, taking into account the international regulations and laws, particularly the regulations issued by the International Civil Aviation Organization, besides ensuring that the law suits the Qatari environment.
