Al-Hammadi: The advancement of teaching is among our top priorities

Minister of Education and Higher Education, HE Dr Mohammed bin Abdul Wahed al-Hammadi, extended his sincere thanks and gratitude to the wise leadership of the State represented by the Amir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani for his inspiring vision of what education should be in the future.

He also hailed the directives made by HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, as well as his support and sponsorship to the education system in Qatar.

This came while addressing a gathering of newly recruited Qatari teachers at the beginning of the new academic year 2018/2019 at a welcoming ceremony held by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.

HE Dr Mohammed al-Hammadi affirmed that the advancement of the teaching profession, including the recruitment of qualified professionals, as well as improving Qatar’s national capacities in the field of education and developing the academic achievement of students, is among the top priorities of the ministry.

Al-Hammadi further noted that MOEHE, in this regard, has implemented several developments to the educational policies and strategies in the country, including the expansion of the Tamouh program by adding new categories of beneficiaries alongside Qatari citizens, such as holders of Qatari documents, children of Qatari women and those born in Qatar, in addition to increasing the financial allocations of the program, which is an attractive incentive for high school graduates who wish to join this program and work in the teaching profession.
