Minister of Transportation: Hamad Port Acquires 28% of Trade Volume in the Middle East

HE Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti, Minister of Transport and Communications, revealed that Hamad Port has acquired 28 percent share in the volume of trade in the Middle East, according to statistics for 2017, considering that this is evidence of the success of the infrastructure of Qatar.

This came in a speech by Al Sulaiti during a panel discussion under the title “The role of infrastructure in enhancing trade competitiveness and the movement of imports and exports during the second day of the International Products Exhibition and Conference.

The share of Hamad Port in the volume of trade in Qatar in terms of exports and imports has reached 95%, which makes the port an important port of the economy and contributes effectively to people’s daily lives.

He added that the share of air space through Hamad International Airport ranges between 3.5% to 4%, and that the contribution of the Ruwais port ranges from 1.5% to 2%, highlighting that the launch of Hamad International Port positively affected the volume of intra-friendly trade between partner and ally countries.
