Saudi Falcons Club announces the details of the second edition of King Abdulaziz Falconry Festival

Riyadh, The second edition of King Abdulaziz Falconry Festival will be launched at the festival’s location at Malham, north of the city of Riyadh, on the first of December and lasts on the 16th, the Saudi Falcons Club (SFC) announced today.

In a statement, the Club’s Media Center said that the event comes within the objectives of the club to preserve the heritage of falconry and support falconers in the Kingdom through the establishment of competitions dedicated to falcons.

The statement pointed out that the festival will allow falconers and hawk owners from inside and outside the Kingdom to compete for two competitions: the 400-m Al-Melwah race, and falcons beauty pageants.

It pointed out that eight cities have been designated for registering falconers wishing to participate in the festival according to the following dates: Dammam 6-7 November, Hafr Al-Batin 9-11 November, Araar 13-14 November, Skaka 16-17 November, Hail 19-20 November, Buraydah 22-23 November, Yanbu 11-12 November, and Riyadh 15-25 November.

It recalled that King Abdulaziz Falcon Festival is the world’s largest of its kind, citing that the festival’s first edition was registered in Guinness Book of Records following the participation of 1723 falcons in the event.
