Oman’s Deputy PM receives GCC housing ministers

Muscat: Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud al-Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers has received the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Ministers of Housing who were taking part in the 17th meeting hosted by the Sultanate.

After welcoming the guests, Sayyid Fahd expressed the Sultanate’s appreciation under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said of the efforts being exerted in housing and urban planning fields that target development and taking into account the latest methods of construction with preservation of housing heritage, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.

Sayyid Fahd also stressed the importance of the GCC Statistical Center in aspects pertaining to housing databases in coordination with the statistical centers in each country.

Conversation during the meeting touched on the major topics discussed by the meeting, the foremost of which represented in the joint housing action strategy, unifying legislations and enhancing partnership with the private sector.

On their turn, the ministers thanked the Sultanate for hosting this meeting and the good preparation that contributed to reaching several prospective outcomes.

The meeting was attended by Shaikh Saif bin Mohammed al-Shabibi, Minister of Housing.
