SOP football competitions continue at Aspire Academy playgrounds

DOHA, Students from age category 11 to 12 years have displayed impressive football skills in the competitions of Schools Olympic Program (SOP) took place at Aspire Academy playgrounds on Sunday.

In the group A, Umm Al Qura school defeated Muaither school 5-2, while Al Qadisiyah school outclassed Al Ekhlas school 2-0. Umm Al Qura lead the group with 9 points tally.

In group B, Jabir ibn Hayyan lead the group with 9 points, following their three consecutive victories against Abdullah bin Rawahah, Abdullah bin Jassim and Simaisma schools.

While Kamal Nagi school led group C after collected 5 points, they beat Umm Said school 3-1 and were held to a goalless draw against Al Dhakhira school.

In the group D, Al Zubair bin Awam school defeated Saad bin Muaz 2-0 and beat Ahmed bin Rashid Al Muraikhi 3-0 to lead the group.

The SOP is held annually as a collaborative effort of to encourage hundreds of students athletes competing from all over Qatar.

The SOP Committee aims to spread a culture of sports through Qatar’s schools and to engage the entire community in active and healthy lifestyles while retaining local values and traditions.
