Rain Emergency Committee examines all preparations for rainwater pools aspiration

The Joint Committee for Rain Emergencies in the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, held a meeting chaired by Eng. Ahmed Mohammed Al-Sada, Deputy Assistant for Public Services.

The meeting discussed the necessary preparations and mechanisms for dealing with rainwater pools in accordance with the necessary plans to ensure that rainwater pools aspiration is conducted as quickly as possible during and after rainfall.


The meeting was attended by all the relevant authorities in the state. These included directors of the Departments of Municipal Services, Departments of Public Hygiene, Mechanical equipment, Customer Service, Unified call Centres, Public Works Authority, Ministry of Interior, Lakhweya Forces, Qatar Armed Forces and Qatar Petroleum.


During the meeting, the distribution of rainwater aspiration pumps in all areas, maintenance of sand embankments at rainwater collection points sites, maintenance of all rainwater aspiration pumps and tanks, as well as cleaning of rainwater channels for all roads. Contractors? work in rainwater collection areas and time plans for the completion of projects were also viewed.


The meeting touched on the mechanism of receiving reports in the operating room. Displays will be connected and operated electronically, and reports will be received round the clock via the Unified Call Centre of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (184), in addition to (188) which is the Public Works Authority?s hotline.
