More than 300 Athletes Take Part in Diamond League Doha 2021

DOHA, May – The Qatari Athletics Federation announced the participation of more than 200 athletes from all over the world in the Doha Round, the second round of the Diamond League for Athletics 2021, which will be held tomorrow at “Suhaim bin Hamad” stadium in Qatar Sports Club, amid precaution within a bubble system. In addition to the participation of more than 100 technical and medical personnel and escorts.

The Director of Teams at the Qatar Athletics Federation, and Director of the Doha Diamond Round Championship Khalifa Yusef Abdul Malik, expressed his happiness at the prominent attendance of world athletics champions and celebrities who were keen to be present in Doha in order to prepare in the best possible way for the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

In a press statement today, Abdul Malik said that preparations are proceeding in full swing, as final touches are being put on the track and field of Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium to receive the heroes tomorrow, indicating that more than 200 players have confirmed their participation in the Diamond League Doha in addition to more than 100 technical and medical personnel and escorts.

He emphasized that this large participation enhances the reputation of the State of Qatar, which always seeks to implement the best regulatory standards, in addition to strict precautionary measures to confront the Coronavirus (Covid-19).

He added, “We have previously succeeded in the challenge and doubled our experiences in hosting sports with health challenges thanks to the great cooperation with state institutions, especially the Qatar Olympic Committee, the Ministry of Public Health and other relevant authorities in this regard.” He stressed that the State of Qatar is able to organize the world championships under any circumstances, thanks to its capabilities, whether at the logistical level or the organizational expertise of Qatari youth, who have become able to meet the challenges, however difficult they are.

Abdul Malik explained that the Qatari national team is seeking to increase the number of qualifiers for the Olympic Games in Tokyo, saying: “We wish our players good luck and if they manage to achieve their personal numbers, this will enable them to qualify, which is a suitable opportunity for many of them to prove their abilities.

For his part, the Assistant Secretary of the Qatar Athletics Federation Talal Mansour, affirmed that the Doha Diamond Round has become attractive to the legends and world champions of Athletics. It also comes as the last tournament before the start of the Olympic Games in the Japanese capital, Tokyo, which doubles the importance of the Doha Round in preparing the athletes.

Talal Mansour said in a similar press statement: “This round will be one of the best tournaments for this year as it comes directly before the Olympics, and all athletics stars are eager to compete in Doha, especially in light of the suspension or postponement of the world championships in the past due to the continuing outbreak of the Coronavirus.”

He added: “I expect that the Qatari national team champions will reap the qualifying cards for the Olympiad and all conditions are ready for them to achieve this goal, whether at the level of physical and mental preparation or the great support on the part of the Qatari Federation.”

Team Qatar to look for new glory in FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Sochi

SOCHI, Russia,– Qatar’s first beach volleyball team duo Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tajin will begin their campaign in the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour 2021 in the Russian city of Sochi on Thursday.

The Tour will last until May 30 and brings together 62 teams from 27 countries to compete for the top honors. Team Qatar duo will lock horns against Norwegian opponents in the phase three of the main rounds.

The national team’s participation in the Main Draw Tournament of the Sochi World Tour comes as it is ranked seventh in the world with 5280 points, according to the latest classification of the International Beach Volleyball Federation (FIVB).

The team is looking forward to progressing in the world rankings of national teams through its participation in the Russian Sochi and Czech Ostrava rounds, before its next participation in the Tokyo Olympic Games, after the International Federation announced on its official website that 13 teams guaranteed direct qualification for the Olympiad « Tokyo », among them I support the beach plane, which is currently ranked fifth.

Qatar National Team Continue Training to Face Oman and India

DOHA,-The Qatari national football team will continue its training within its preparatory camp at the Aspire Academy stadiums in preparation for the India and Oman matches in the joint qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar and the 2023 AFC Asian Cup in Doha during the period from 3 to 15 June.

The Qatari team will meet India on June 3, and Oman on the 7th of the same month for the Group E confrontations, which include Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

The Spanish coach, Felix Sanchez, called on new members to join the camp, as Al Gharafa goalkeeper Youssef Hassan joined the list after Abdullah Marafie and Hashem Ali, Abdul Rashid Ibrahim and Muhammad Ayyash from the Olympic squad.

The Qatari national team will regroup after the end of the next two matches in order to prepare for the Golden Cup championship starting July 10, and Qatar team will start against Panama national team on the 13th of the same month in the American city of Houston, which hosts the three Qatari team matches in the first round of the tournament.
