Qatar beat Bangladesh in AFC U20 Asian Cup qualifiers

Manama: Qatar defeated Bangladesh 3-0 to make it three consecutive wins in Group B of the AFC U20 Asian Cup™ Uzbekistan 2023 Qualifiers at the Sheikh Ali Bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Stadium on Friday.

Ahmed Alrawi starred with a hat-trick as Qatar defeated Bangladesh 3-0 to stay perfect.

Qatar, who defeated Nepal and Bhutan in their earlier games, dominated the first half with Alrawi finding the target in the 22nd minute.

The Al Rayyan SC defender doubled Qatar’s tally at the hour mark before completing his hat-trick from the penalty spot in the fifth minute of added time.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed meets with Israeli Interior Minister

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met with the Minister of the Interior of Israel, Ayelet Shaked, during his current official visit to Tel Aviv to review cooperation relations between the two countries in several fields, with emphasis on the defence field.

Sheikh Abdullah said that the visit, which coincides with the two-year anniversary of the signing of the Abraham Accord between the UAE and Israel, would open up fresh prospects of cooperation between the two countries for the benefit of their peoples and those of the region.

For her part, the Israeli Interior Minister welcomed the visit of Sheikh Abdullah and hiss accompanying delegation, emphasizing the distinguished bilateral relations between the two countries and their keenness to strengthen cooperation in all fields.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed meets with Israeli Finance Minister

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met with the Minister of Finance of Israel, Avigdor Lieberman, during his current official visit to Tel Aviv to review cooperation relations between the two countries in several fields, including areas of economy, finance and investment.

Sheikh Abdullah said that the UAE and Israel, since the signing of the Abraham Accords Peace Agreement, have succeeded in establishing a model to be copied for constructive cooperation in several areas related to advancing the development efforts in the two countries.

For his part, Lieberman welcomed the visit of Sheikh Abdullah and his accompanying delegation, stressing the importance of this visit in strengthening bilateral relations and developing the existing partnership between the two countries at all levels.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed visits Yad Vashem to commemorate Holocaust memorial in Israel

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, has visited the Yad Vashem, the world Holocaust remembrance centre, which is the greatest source for Holocaust education, documentation and research.

Sheikh Abdullah was accompanied by Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemy, Minister of State for International Cooperation; Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Youth; Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of State; Omar Ghobash, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Cultural Affairs and Public Diplomacy; and Mohamed Al Khaja, UAE Ambassador to Israel.

Upon their arrival, the Chairman of Yad Vashem Dani Dayan welcomed H.H. Sheikh Abdullah and the delegation.

Sheikh Abdullah was briefed on the centre, which was established in 1953 as a research and educational centre to commemorate the Holocaust. It includes museums, exhibitions, memorials, research and educational centres, in addition to libraries and archives.

The UAE Foreign Minister praised the role of this historical complex, which reflects the importance of working to promote and spread the values of tolerance and coexistence among peoples, establishing peace, and supporting peoples’ aspirations for a decent life and prosperity.

His Highness stressed that the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is keen to play its role as a global beacon for spreading the values of tolerance, coexistence and human brotherhood, as they constitute the essential pillars for achieving sustainable development and prosperity in societies.

Sheikh Abdullah offered a tribute to the lives of the victims of the Holocaust, praising Yad Vashem’s eagerness to perpetuate their memory.

Director of MoFAIC’s Dubai Office receives credentials of Consul General of Israel

H.E. Sheikh Maktoum bin Butti Al Maktoum, Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation’s Dubai Office, met with H.E. Liron Zaslansky, Consul General of the State of Israel in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, and received her credentials.

His Excellency welcomed the Consul General and hailed the political, economic, commercial, and investment relations that bind the UAE and Israel while wishing her success in her duties.
