Iran, Saudi Arabia discuss boosting bilateral relations

Iran and Saudi Arabia discussed means to enhance the bilateral relations between the two countries to ensure international peace and security.

This came during a meeting held on Friday in Cape Town, south Africa between Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, and his Saudi Counterpart Prince Faisal Bin Farhan, on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting of BRICS Group.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed means of enhancing bilateral relations in many fields, in addition to following up the steps of implementing the agreement signed between both countries in Beijing, including intensifying bilateral work to ensure international peace and security, Saudi Press Agency(SPA) said.

Both sides expressed hope to intensify consultative meetings and discuss ways of cooperation to achieve more positive prospects in a way that would serve the interests of the two peoples.

It is notable that a ministerial meeting for BRICS Group was held in South Africa over the past two days, which was established in 2009, the Group includes Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

Russian Communist Party sends humanitarian aid to Syria

The Russian Communist Party has sent three truckloads of humanitarian aid, carrying about 30 tons of foodstuffs and other materials, to the Syrian people, which will be transported via a cargo plane affiliated to the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The Communist Party has provided aid to the Syrian people during the crisis, Chairman of the Party, Gennady Zuganov said, in a statement, expressing his party’s commitment to stand by Syria.

“Syria is an important country, and we provide support and assistance to it after the earthquake catastrophe,” Vladimir Kashin, Vice-President of the Russian Communist Party, said.

The American imperialists and advocates of globalization wanted to target the independent and sovereign state of Syria, but the Syrian people with Russian Federation assistance managed to preserve the entity of their state, Deputy Speaker of the Local Duma in Moscow Governorate Alexander Naumov said.

The Syrian Embassy in Moscow had announced previously that it had sent, within the framework of the emergency response to the repercussions of the earthquake, 4 tons of humanitarian aid provided by the Syrian community in Rostov, including food, and other supplies, for the benefit of the Syrian Trust for Development, in addition to other humanitarian aid provided by Russian friends.

Minister of Public Works inspects work in projects of construction of residential blocks for earthquake-affected

Minister of Public Works and Housing Eng. Suhail Abdul Latif on Saturday inspected the stages of the work in the two projects of Construction of residential blocks for the earthquake-affected people in the suburbs of al-Ma’saraniyeh for youth housing and al-Haidariyah housing in Aleppo.

Eng. Abdul Latif stressed the significant of the efforts exerted to carry out these buildings and accelerating their accomplishment according to a specific timetable and within the available potentials.

He pointed out that the work is conducted by a systematic engineering and administratively way, which outlines the course of the work of the upcoming stages of the rebuilding stage.

For his part, Aleppo Governor Hussein Diyab stressed the importance of the governmental legislations and decisions in facilitating and organizing work in this regard.

Chairing a meeting at Aleppo governorate building, Eng. Abdul Latif was briefed on the construction works and the implementation stages of the two projects.

Al-Ma’saraniyeh for youth housing project is built on an area of 68 hectares with a cost reached up to SYP 18.612 billion, while al-Haidariyah housing project consists four buildings, each one is a ten-storey building, with a total cost of SYP 66.600 billion.

Pakistani aid for quake-affected arrives Lattakia province

A new humanitarian and relief aid shipment provided by Pakistani government arrived in Lattakia port over the past two days.

Deputy Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Damascus Safdar Ali Khan said, in a press statement, about 63 containers weighing about 1,300 tons were unloaded on Saturday, including relief materials, foodstuffs, baby milk, generators and lighting devices.

Ali Khan added that the Pakistani government sent 9 planes, from the first moments of the earthquake, which have respectively arrived at Damascus International Airport carrying relief materials, in addition to a number of doctors who provided aid since the beginning of the earthquake.

In his turn, a member of the executive office specialized in the trade and industry sector, Dr. Maala Ibrahim, thanked the Republic of Pakistan for its permanent support for Syria.

Syria expresses condolences to Indian people and government over victims of trains collision

Syria has expressed deep sorrow over the killing of hundreds and injury of thousands of people in trains collision in India, and stressed standing by the Government and friendly people of India in this catastrophic accident.

“Syria expresses great regret and deep sadness for the friendly Republic of India over the killing of hundreds and injury of thousands of people in several trains collision in eastern Odisha state,” the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said on Saturday on its website on Twitter.

The Ministry added that the Syrian Arab Republic stressed solidarity and stand by the government and the friendly people of India, expressing condolences to the families of the victims, and wishing quick recovery for the injured.

At least 280 people have died and 900 are injured, in a collision involving three trains east of India, in one of the worst rail crashes in India in recent years.

Jadidat Arar Port Receives 2nd Batch of Iraqi Pilgrims

The second group of pilgrims from Iraq arrived today at the Jadidat Arar land port in the northern border region. The entrance procedures for the pilgrims, including customs, passports, health, and service facilities, were carried out smoothly and with great comfort.

The Iraqi pilgrims expressed their deep appreciation and gratitude to the Saudi government for the exceptional care and services provided by the authorities responsible for Hajj and pilgrim affairs. They praised the excellent facilities and services offered at the port.
