President of the Arab Water Council Praises the Kingdom’s Initiative Establishing a Global Water Organization


The President of the Arab Water Council Dr. Mahmoud Abu Zeid, who is also honorary president of the World Water Council, praised the announcement of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, establishing a global water organization in Riyadh, stressing his organization’s support for the Kingdom’s leading initiative.



Abu Zeid appreciated the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its interest in environmental issues and sustainable development, and its effective role in building a better future for humanity through the security and sustainability of the water sector.



In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, Abu Zaid said that the Kingdom’s initiative came at a time that requires the integration of efforts at the international and regional levels to address water challenges through enhancing technical experiments, innovation, research and development, as well as enabling the establishment of quality projects and facilitating their financing, in order to achieve the sustainability of water resources.

KSrelief Distributes 20 Tons of Food Baskets in Sudan


The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) on Wednesday distributed 20 tons of food baskets in Madani, Al Jazirah state, Sudan, benefiting 1,305 individuals.



The assistance comes as part of the humanitarian assistance provided by the Kingdom through its humanitarian arm, KSrelief, to the brothers in the Republic of Sudan to alleviate the suffering of the needy there.

Shura Speaker Embarks on Official Visit to Jordan


Speaker of the Shura Council Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh, started today an official visit to Jordan, heading a delegation from the council in response to an official invitation he received from his Jordanian counterpart, Ahmed Al-Safadi.



The Speaker praised the distinguished relations between the two countries, describing these relations as strategic and historical, noting the development and effective progress witnessed by the relations in various fields in light of the continuous support and care by the two countries leadership.



He highlighted the importance of visits between councils and their effective presence with various parliamentary assemblies in many countries, hoping that these efforts and visits would culminate in taking bilateral relations to the highest levels to serve the common interests of the two countries and people.



During the visit, Al Al-Sheikh will hold official discussion sessions with the Speaker of the Lower House and the President of the Senate to discuss bilateral relations in various fields, especially parliamentary relations, and various issues of common interest. He will also meet with several senior Jordanian officials.

Nazaha, INTERPOL Discuss Ways to Enhance Cooperation in Combating Cross-border Crimes


President of the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority ‘Nazaha’ Mazin bin Ibrahim Al-Kahmous today visited the headquarters of the International Criminal Police Organization ‘INTERPOL’ in Lyon, France. He was received upon his arrival by the Secretary-General of INTERPOL, Jürgen Stock, and senior members of the organization.



During the visit, the two sides discussed several topics of common interest, including aspects of cooperation between Nazaha and INTERPOL in the field of combating corruption and cross-border crimes, enhancing aspects of cooperation with relevant international organizations within regional and international frameworks and agreements, and discussing the challenges associated with combating corruption crimes.



The discussions also touched on issues related to recovering funds and assets related to corruption cases, pursuing fugitive defendants in corruption cases, and cooperating to retrieve them and bring them before justice.



The visit comes in response to the invitation of the Secretary-General of INTERPOL to the President of Nazaha to discuss measures undertaken by the organization in combating corruption crimes and the movement of illicit funds and their recovery.

KSrelief Inaugurates 7 Water, Environmental Sanitation Projects in Marib


The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) inaugurated seven water and environmental sanitation projects in Al-Madina and Harib Directorates of Marib governorate in collaboration with the UN Children’s Agency (UNICEF).



A total of 145,000 individuals of the displaced and host community will benefit from the projects.



Meanwhile, Dr. Abdrabbo Muftah, the Undersecretary of Marib Governorate, inspected the progress of construction work at the project of the 18-meter-long water tower with a storage capacity of 270 cubic meters in the governorate.



Dr. Muftah commended the humanitarian efforts made by Saudi Arabia through KSrelief in assisting the displaced and affected families in Marib.



He emphasized the importance of these projects in alleviating the suffering of those in need in Yemen.



The projects are an extension of the Kingdom’s efforts, represented by KSrelief, to support infrastructure projects in the field of water and environmental sanitation in various Yemeni governorates.

Saudi Ambassador Meets with British Minister of State for International Trade


The Saudi Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Prince Khaled bin Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, met in London yesterday with the British Minister of State for International Trade, Nigel Huddleston, to discuss enhancing trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.



During the meeting at the headquarters of the British Department for Business and Trade, they reviewed trade and economic relations between the two countries and ways to enhance and develop them to serve common interests.



The two sides touched on concluding the free trade negotiations between the Gulf Cooperation Council’s states and the United Kingdom, reviewing the major outcomes of the fourth round of negotiations, held on July 24 – 28.

GDCD Participates in Arab Conference of Heads of Civil Protection Agencies


The General Directorate of Civil Defense (GDCD) has participated in the 19th Arab Conference of Heads of Civil Protection Agencies, held in the Kingdom of Morocco.



The conference discussed the dangers of environmental pollution and ways to address them, as well as the latest developments and activities carried out by the civil defense bodies.



The GDCD delegation engaged in all discussions of topics of mutual concern for the member states and in the recommendations on enhancing cooperation and expertise exchange.

SDRPY Participates in ’Common Ground’ Exhibition on Saudi, Yemeni Cultures


The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) participated in an introductory exhibition on its development projects in Yemen.



The introduction is part of the first edition of the Common Ground exhibition, which is organized by the Ministry of Culture and held in Riyadh from September 8 to 20. The exhibition will spotlight the Saudi and Yemeni cultures.



The Common Ground exhibition aims to display the similarities between the cultures of the two Arab countries, including in the aspects of fashion, visual arts, architecture, design, as well as culinary arts.



The exhibition looks forward to enhancing cultural exchange and cooperation between the Kingdom and Yemen.



Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of Yemen Moammar Al-Eryani and several Yemeni officials toured the introductory exhibition alongside SDRPY General Supervisor Mohammed bin Saeed Al Jaber.



SDRPY is engaged in reviving and preserving heritage, restoring historical buildings, and enhancing workforce capabilities in the cultural field. The program also implements quality initiatives that back the development process in Yemen and promotes economic benefits in Yemen.



SDRPY has implemented 229 development projects and initiatives in Yemen in seven key sectors: education, health, water, energy, transportation, agriculture and fisheries, and capacity building for government institutions.
