Labour Ministry holds emergency meeting with Gulf Air Group


The Ministry of Labour announced that it held an emergency meeting with the management of the Gulf Air Group Holding (GFG) regarding the company’s ceasing of operations of the services of some support departments and ending services of employees as part of its asset consolidation strategy.



The meeting aimed at verifying the measures taken in line with laws and regulations to preserve employee’ rights and job stability and to find appropriate solutions for all parties.



The ministry affirms its keenness to discuss all available options to preserve employee rights and job stability in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Ambassador to Brazil attends military parade on Brazilian Independence Day


At the invitation of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva of Brazil, Bader Abbas Al Helaibi, Bahraini Ambassador to Brazil, attended the military parade on the 103rd anniversary of Brazil’s Independence Day.



The ambassador conveyed the sincere congratulations and best wishes of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the Brazilian President on the occasion.

Bahraini film producers honoured


HRH Prince Saud bin Talal bin Badr, Al-Ahsa Governor, honoured the crew of Bahraini film, “Ya Mal”, during the closing ceremony of the second edition of the Short Film Competition, “My Heritage”, organised by the Arab Regional Centre for World Heritage (ARC-WH) in cooperation with the Saudi Heritage Commission (SHC) at the King Faisal University, as part of ARCWH’s “Arab Youth for Heritage” initiative.



Shaikh Ibrahim bin Humood Al Khalifa, Deputy ARC-WH Director, Dr. Mohammed Al-Ohali, King Faisal University President, and Mohammed Ali Al-Matrudi, SHC Al-Ahsa Office Director, attended the ceremony.



Al-Ahsa Governor honoured the winning films, including “Ya Mal” from Bahrain, and other films from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iraq, Algeria and Yemen.



Directed by Yousif Ahmed, and filmed by Mohammed Othman and Yousif Mubarak, “Ya Mal” sheds light on the “Pearling Path” in the kingdom, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. It highlights Bahrain’s rich cultural and heritage features.

Bahrain condemns terrorist attacks in Mali


The Kingdom of Bahrain has condemned the two terrorist attacks that took place in northeastern Mali, which led to the death and injury of dozens of civilians and soldiers.



In a statement, the Foreign Affairs Ministry expressed its sincere condolences and sympathy to the Malian government and people, as well as the families of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery for the wounded.



The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed its strong condemnation of all terrorist acts, as they contravene moral and human values, and aim to destabilise countries’ security and stability.



The Ministry stressed the importance of concerted international efforts to eliminate extremist terrorist organisations.

His Excellency Ahmed Al Sayegh leads UAE delegation to 157th session of the Ministerial Council meeting of the GCC

His Excellency Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of State, headed the UAE delegation participating in the Ministerial Council meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council, for its 157th session. The meeting was held on September 7, 2023, at the headquarters of the GCC Secretariat in Riyadh, chaired by His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman and President of the current session of the Ministerial Council. The meeting was attended by Their Highnesses and Excellencies, the Foreign Ministers of the GCC countries, as well as His Excellency Jasem Mohamed Al Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Council.

During the meeting, joint work updates and regional and international political developments were reviewed. The meeting also discussed several topics related to dialogues and strategic relations between GCC countries, as well as international organizations.

A press statement issued by the Ministerial Council congratulated the UAE on its progress in the field of space and the historic achievement of Emirati astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi in the successful completion of the longest Arab space mission, which lasted for 6 months aboard the International Space Station. This accomplishment, and the experiments and research conducted, served to contribute to furthering knowledge and serving humanity.

His Excellency also participated in the joint Ministerial meeting between the GCC countries and Japan, which took place on the sidelines of the 157th session of the Ministerial Council in Riyadh. During the meeting, the joint action plan between the GCC and Japan was extended until 2024-2028.
