Damascus, SANA- Syria and UN Office for Project Services in Jordan discussed Wednesday means to boost joint cooperation and provide the necessary needs to health sector.

That came during a meeting between Health Minister, Dr. Ahmed Damirieh and Director of UN Office for Project Services in Jordan, Mohammed Othman Akram, as the meeting was held at the ministry’s headquarters

The two sides discussed the work details related to implementing the projects being established in Syria, as Minister Damirieh underlined the depth of partnership between the ministry and the Project Services Office in Jordan.

He hailed the great support provided by the office, particularly after the disastrous earthquake struck Syria last year.

In turn, Akram stressed keenness to provide the necessary support to the health sector in Syria.

Syria, UN World Tourism Organization discuss boosting joint cooperation


Riyadh, SANA- Syria’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Dr. Ayman Sousan, met Wednesday morning Director of Regional Office of UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) for the Middle East, Samer Al-Kharash.

The two sides discussed means of cooperation between Organization Regional Office and Syrian Tourism Ministry in all domains related to tourism, as al-Kharash stressed readiness to bolster cooperation with Syria in all fields.

In turn, Ambassador Sousan underscored the importance of tourism sector particularly in the investment field.

He noted that cooperation with the regional office will enhance the Syrian efforts in this regard, especially in terms of qualifying the cadres working in tourism sector and promoting tourism.

Undersecretary of Riyadh Region Attends Vietnamese Embassy National Day Celebration

Governor of Riyadh Region Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz was represented by Undersecretary of Riyadh Region Dr. Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudairi at a celebration ceremony hosted by the embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in honor of its National Day. The event took place at the Cultural Palace in Riyadh’s Diplomatic Quarter.

Upon arrival at the ceremony, Dr. Al-Sudairi was welcomed by Vietnamese Ambassador to the Kingdom Dang Xuan Dung and embassy officials.

The ceremony was attended by several high-ranking officials from the diplomatic corps accredited to the Kingdom.

Health Minister confirms raising readiness at hospitals and border crossings to receive arrivals from Lebanon


Damascus, SANA-Health Minister Dr. Ahmad Damiriyah, confirmed the readiness at all health facilities and medical points on border crossings with Lebanon in order to provide the necessary health services to all incoming cases.

During today’s meeting at the Ministry building with relevant managers, Minister Damiriyah, discussed the mechanism for dealing with arrivals, providing full support to those affected by the Israeli aggression, and focusing on health requirements, noting the importance of providing full health services at medical points located at border crossings, including primary health care services such as vaccination and care for pregnant women and children.

Health Minister pointed out the need for continuous coordination with health directors to identify distribution schedules for supplies and medicines during the current stage.

Ambassador to Belgium participates in EU meeting

Brussels, Abdullah bin Faisal bin Jabr Al Dosari, Bahrain’s Ambassador to Belgium and Head of its Mission to the European Union (EU), participated in a meeting in Brussels chaired by Charles Michel, President of the European Council.

The president highlighted the outcomes of his recent visit to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), during which he met with the GCC leaders to brief them on the preparations and agenda for the GCC-EU summit, scheduled to take place in Brussels next month.

Bahrain, Guinea sign agreement to establish diplomatic relations

New York, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Simeón Oyono Esono Ange, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Diaspora of Equatorial Guinea, on the sidelines of the 79th United Nations General Assembly.

The meeting discussed Bahrain-Guinea relations and means to enhance cooperation between the two countries. They also addressed regional and international topics of common interest.

During the meeting, the two sides signed a joint statement to establish diplomatic relations between Bahrain and Guinea.

Education Minister meets Kuwaiti Ambassador

Manama, Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, the Minister of Education and Chairman of the Higher Education Council, met Sheikh Thamer Jaber Al Ahmed Al Sabah, the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Bahrain.

They discussed cooperation between the two countries in education and higher education, emphasising the importance of strengthening collaboration to support educational progress and achieve shared goals.

The minister highlighted the historical ties between Bahrain and Kuwait, noting the strong connections within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), which have led to various joint projects and programmes, particularly in education.

The ambassador expressed appreciation to Bahrain for its support of Kuwaiti students in higher education institutions, and looked forward to further solid cooperation between Bahrain and Kuwait in this area.

Manama, Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), received Brigadier General Muhammad Asim Ishaque, Managing Director of the National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC) of Pakistan.

The meeting discussed means to enhance cooperation between the two countries.

The Commander-in-Chief commended the distinguished relations between Bahrain and Pakistan.

Niger Foreign Minister, Ambassador Al-Harbi Discuss Enhancing Cooperation

Saudi Ambassador to Niger Zaid bin Makhlid Al-Harbi met today with Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Nigeriens Abroad, Bakary Yaou Sangaré.

During the meeting in Niamey, they explored means to advance bilateral relations and cooperation and also discussed topics of mutual concern. The minister expressed appreciation for the support provided by Saudi Arabia to Niger.

Sangaré also commended Saudi Arabia’s initiative to host a donor conference to support displaced persons and refugees in the Sahel and Lake Chad Region, scheduled to take place in October 2024.
