Manama, The Bahrain national junior handball team has finished its external camp in Egypt, as part of the squad’s preparations for the ninth Asian Championship hosted, to be hosted by the Kingdom from 20 to 31 August, and which qualifies for the 2023 IHF Men’s Youth World Championship.
While in Egypt, the national team played four strong friendlies, winning one of them.
Coached by Mohammed Al-Maraghi, the national team will continue its preparations in Bahrain until the championship’s opener against Uzbekistan.
Bahrain, the defending champions, will play in Group A, alongside Iran, India, South Korea and Uzbekistan.
Group B comprises Japan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Iraq and Kuwait.
The top five teams from the championship will directly qualify for the 10th IHF Men’s Youth World Handball Championship, to be held in Croatia in 2023.
