BAC completes annual BCAA audit

Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), the operator and managing body of Bahrain International Airport (BIA), has completed the annual Bahrain Civil Aviation Affairs (BCAA) audit aimed at ensuring relevant Aerodrome Certification requirements are being met.

This year’s audit focused on compliance with Civil Aviation Regulations (CAR001) on aerodrome safety standards and certification regulations utilizing the ISO9001:2015 audit protocols.

The primary areas of focus for this audit were the Rescue and Firefighting Service, Aerodrome Manual, Relevant Standard Operating Procedures and Physical Characteristics of the aerodrome.

“Ensuring that BIA maintains the highest safety standards is essential and we take great care to uphold this important responsibility. The annual audit plays a crucial role by helping to identify any areas for improvement and enabling us to take corrective actions, as deemed required. I thank the BCAA auditors for their valued support throughout the process, which is vital to safeguard the wellbeing of passengers and airport staff, and further enhances BIA’s operational efficiency. I also commend the airport team for their dedication and commitment to operational excellence,” Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mohamed Yousif Al Binfalah said.

Other areas assessed during the audit included training and personnel competency records, recurrent testing procedures and records, operational manuals, standard operating procedures, and records of meetings and decisions taken regarding safety.

The audit is a proactive safety management activity intended to ensure the timely identification of any potential safety problems before they occur, and that the Airport Safety Management System complies with applicable safety regulatory requirements.
