Bahrain welcomes verdict against Hezbollah members over Hariri assassination

The Kingdom of Bahrain welcomed the verdict passed unanimously by the Special Tribunal of Lebanon, sentencing two agents of the terrorist Hezbollah militia for their role in the attack that took the life of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Al-Hariri and 21 others in 2005, and wounded 226 others.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed Bahrain’s call on the international community to assume its responsibilities in supporting the brotherly Lebanese people, meeting their aspirations for security, stability and prosperity, implementing international resolutions to arrest the perpetrators and bringing them to justice, putting an end to the activities of the Iranian-backed “terrorist Hezbollah” and stopping its control of the political scene and its exploitation of state lands in supporting and training terrorist militias that destabilize security and stability in Arab countries. It also stressed the importance of strengthening the role of the Lebanese army in maintaining the country’s security, stability and sovereignty, and restoring its vital role in its Arab and international environment.
