Bahrain’s efforts to support gender balance praised

The World Economic Forum has today released the Gender Gap Report, which focuses on analyzing countries’ performance in this sector.

Supreme Council for Women (SCW) Secretary-General Hala Al Ansari stressed the importance of the report which highlighted Bahrain’s success in promoting equal opportunities.

“Bahrain’s performance in the report related to bridging the gap in the field of gender parity reflects the significant impact of the state’s policies aimed at sustaining the progress of Bahraini women and raising their levels of competitiveness compared to their counterparts around the world”, she said.

She praised the national efforts, led by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and SCW President to promote equal opportunities.

She lauded the far-sighted vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, noting the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Al Ansari highlighted Bahrain’s success in promoting initiatives and programmes, noting particularly the launch of the National Gender Balance Model which focuses on integrating women’s needs in national development.
