Culture Ministry receives inscription certificate of crafting oud on UNESCO Heritage List

After the United Nations Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (UNESCO) inscribed crafting and playing oud in Syria on the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, Minister of Culture, Dr. Lubanah Mshaweh, has received the certificate of inscription.

Chairman of the Syrian National Committee for UNESCO, Minister of Education, Dr. Darem Tabbaa handed over the certificate to Minister Mshaweh.

Tabbaa noted that the inscription of crafting and playing oud in Syria on the representative list of intangible cultural heritage reflects the cultural imprint left by Syria on the human heritage.

For her part, Minister Mshaweh said that the inscription of crafting and playing oud will guarantee the sustainability of this heritage and its preservation.

Mshaweh thanked everyone who contributed to this field, especially the organization and the Ministries of Education and Culture and the Syria Trust for Development.
