Foreign Ministry’s efforts to enhance diplomatic ties praised

Manama, Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee Chairman Mp Mohammed al Sisi Al Bouainain, hailed the efforts undertaken by the Foreign Ministry to bolster Bahrain’s diplomatic relations in the region and the world and enhance joint cooperation.

He reiterated Bahrain’s commitment to the outcome of Al Ula agreement which, he said, represents a step to tackle pending issues with the Qatari side, which failed to meet its commitments.

He made the statement on the sidelines of the committee’s meeting wth the Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, in the presence of Assistant Foreign Minister Abdulla bin Faisal Al Dosary, and Undersecretary for International Affairs Dr Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa.

Mp AlBouainain said that the meeting focused on key regional and international issues, quoting Dr Al Zayani who said that the Qatari side had failed to meeting its commitments in order to start a new phase of regional stability which would pave the way for more GCC integration.

He added that the meeting heighted the danger of the Iranian nuclear program in light of international renegotiations of the issue, stressing the necessity for GCC states to be party to any future international agreement.

The meeting highlighted Tehran’s interference in the internal affairs of  countries of the region, threat to maritime navigation, development of ballistic missiles, and support to armed terrorist militias, which are matters no less dangerous than the Iranian nuclear program.

The meeting also affirmed the strength of the strategic relations between the United States of America and the Kingdom of Bahrain, supported by  close partnership spanning more than 120 years.

Al Bouainain said that the Kingdom of Bahrain welcomes the inauguration of the President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, stressing its keenness to consolidate the strategic relations between the two friendly countries.
