H.E. Minister of Commerce and Industry Inaugurates QI International Trade Fair for Iranian Products

His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al–Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry, and His Excellency Mr Mohsen Rezaei,Vice President for Economic Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, inaugurated the QI International Trade Fair for Iranian Products, taking place at the Katara Cultural Village until October 19.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by a number of members of the Qatar Chamber and the Qatari Businessmen Association, alongside several Iranian company owners.

After the inauguration ceremony, Their Excellencies the Minister of Commerce and Industry and the Iranian Vice President for Economic Affairs toured the exhibition. They viewed some of the participating companies’ pavilions featuring their products.

The QI International Trade Fair for Iranian Productsaims to introduce the key Iranian industries, as well as display Iranian companies’ products across a number of fields. The main displayed products include: food items, carpets, oil and gas derivatives, petrochemical products, textiles, and leather products.

Moreover, the Fair features organizing a number of side-events. It also comprises a platform for holding bilateral meetings between businessmen from both sides, to discuss available investment opportunities, and ways to build long-term economic cooperation mechanisms between Qatari and Iranian companies.

On the side-lines of the QI International Trade Fair for Iranian products inauguration ceremony, H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al-Thani, met with H.E. Mr Mohsen Rezaei.

The meeting featured previewing issues of common interest aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the sectors of trade, investment, and industry.

During the meeting, H.E. the Minister of Commerce and Industry highlighted the successful economic policies Qatar has put in place to support the private sector, and pointed out the incentives, legislations, and promising opportunities that are aimed at encouraging investors, businessmen, and business owners to invest in Qatar.
