KSrelief Delivers 300 Tons of Dates to WFP Sri Lanka

Colombo: King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has delivered 300 tons of dates to the World Food Program (WFP) Sri Lanka.

The delivery took place in the presence of Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Sri Lanka Khalid bin Hamoud Al-Qahtani and a team from the KSrelief, at the Saudi Embassy headquarters in the capital, Colombo.

Gerard Rebello, Deputy Country Director of WFP Sri Lanka, signed the delivery memorandum for the shipment from the KSrelief team, which will be distributed to over 200,000 people in the country.

Ambassador Al-Qahtani expressed gratitude to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for this generous gesture.

He added that such effort reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian and pioneering role in assisting brotherly and friendly countries.

Al-Qahtani commended the KSrelief for its follow-up and dire
ct supervision of the implementation of such humanitarian programs and projects, which help alleviate the suffering of those in need.

Rebello highlighting the Kingdom as one of the largest donors to the WFP, expressing his gratitude for this generous contribution.

This shipment is part of the Kingdom’s donation to the WFP. The donation will reach several countries as part of the programs implemented by the Saudi government to assist families in need in various regions of the world.
