Doha, Qatar has opened its account with a bronze medal in shooting in the 18th Asian Games being held in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia.
Qata’s shooter Hamad Ali Al Marri came third in Men’s Double Trap event held today.
Hyunwoo Shin of South Korea won the gold while 15 year-old Indian shooter Shardul Vihan won the silver.
Team Qatar will be represented by more than 200 athletes, including 29 females, who will compete across 30 events and disciplines in 20 different sports.
The team includes a strong mix of youth and experienced athletes with ages ranging from 17 to 40 and Olympic medallists competing alongside Asian Games’ debutants.
Qatar has high hopes on their shooting contingent which includes 20 athletes and the team includes top stars in the caliber of London Olympic Games bronze medallist Nasser Al Saleh Al Attiyah, who is competing in his sixth Asian Games.
