Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, today chaired the 2nd ministerial meeting of Arab countries and Pacific islands countries, held in Riyadh.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed the Kingdom’s keenness to deal with common, pressing global challenges, such as food security, obstacles facing supply chains, climate change, and sustainable development.
He stressed that the Kingdom has given priority to guiding the local and global economy toward a more sustainable recovery by presenting initiatives of interest to the region and the world, citing the Saudi Green and Middle Green initiatives, launched by HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, and Prime Minister, which are part of the Kingdom’s efforts to preserve the environment, in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
He said that the Kingdom is keen to advance issues of common interest with the Pacific islands countries, boost cooperation in security, energy, trade, investment, and logistics, and activate the role of the private sector to explore investment opportunities that benefit all parties and which help further boost cooperation in various fields.
Prince Faisal underlined that by hosting the International Expo 2030 in Riyadh, the Kingdom aspires to work with friendly countries to showcase their cultures, achievements, and aspirations, and to provide an unprecedented global experience, based on the Kingdom’s belief in the opportunities this forum offers to strengthen bilateral relations and highlight the economic, investment and tourism fields.
He renewed the Kingdom’s support for international legitimacy, maintaining international peace and security, enhancing cooperation based on mutual respect for the sovereignty and independence of states, resolving disputes through peaceful means, and avoiding escalation and the use or threatening to use force.
