MoFAIC, ICP activate e-link for diplomatic, special, and mission passport services

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC) announced the activation of an e-link for diplomatic, special, and mission passport services, in a combined effort with the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP).

This is in line with the directives of the UAE government to streamline digital transformation and the design of joint services between government agencies to enhance the service delivery system by developing the customer journey, reducing time, and enhancing quality of government services.

MoFAIC added the service can be availed by visiting the ministry’s official website: www.mofaic.gov.ae, or by using the ministry’s smart application: UAEMOFAIC, through just two to three steps, enabling speed and accuracy in completion, and the new diplomatic, special, or mission passport can be received within one working day provided information entered while applying is correct. Soon, the service will provide customers the option of picking up their passport at the Ministry’s headquarters in person or having it delivered by courier.

The e-link embodies the development of partnership frameworks between federal and local authorities, as well as the interdependence of their operating systems, to push towards encouraging digital transformation initiatives, moving from the stage of digitising services to the stage of developing a holistic customer journey, and documenting integration between systems in a way that contributes to boosting the country’s global ranking in Single Window Connectivity indicator.

Khaled Abdullah Belhoul, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, lauded the combined work teams’ efforts and constructive cooperation in achieving digital integration of systems running on both sides to contribute to raising the indicators of digital governance and smart cities.

For his part, Major Gen. Suhail Jumaa Al Khaili said that the current e-link project with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation comes in implementation of the leadership’s vision towards digital government and is an essential step on the road toward developing the Authority’s digital initiatives.
