Qatar participated in the virtual regional meeting of West Asian countries under the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) from 1 to 2 February 2021.
In preparation of the Fifth Session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-5) scheduled on the 22nd and 23rd of February, the meeting aims to introduce the Medium-Term Strategy 2022-2025 and the UNEP action program 2020 -2023 and identify the priorities and the needs of environmental action in the region and plan its activities.
Mr. Abdul Hadi Al-Marri – Director of the Climate Change Department, and Eng. Abdullah Jumah Al-Muraikhi – Qatar’s contact point at the United Nations Environment Program’s West Asia Office, represented Qatar in the meeting.
