Qatar renewed its support to the Palestinians, for self-determination and restoration of their legitimate rights.
The remarks were made by Permanent Representative of Qatar to the United Nations (UN) Office in Geneva, Ali Khalfan al Mansouri, attending the 37th session of the Human Rights Council.
The Qatari envoy said, his country fully supports Palestine’s human rights, and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, at the borders of 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Al Mansouri also said, the continuation of demolition of Palestinian homes and the confiscation of their lands, are flagrant violations of international law.
He stressed that, Israel is obliged to comply with relevant international laws and treaties. However, the transferring of Israeli settlers to the settlements is a clear violation of international law.
Earlier in Mar, Qatar announced a 50-million U.S. dollar-donation, to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
Israel took over East Jerusalem in the 1967 war, and later declared the united city as its eternal capital, while the Palestinians hope to establish a future independent state, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
