Tunisian Authorities announced the recovery of 31 “rotting” bodies that had been dumped by the waves of the Mediterranean Sea off the country’s eastern coast.

The Tunisian coast guard said in a statement on Monday that its units recovered 30 bodies off the coast of Sfax, Kerkennah, and Mahdia, including the bodies of two women and two children, while another body of a woman was recovered off the coast of Gabes.

During the first quarter of 2023, the Tunisian authorities stopped more than 14,000 migrants who were trying to reach Italy.
