KSrelief Distributes 200 Food Baskets in Chad


N’Djamena, The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) distributed 200 food baskets yesterday to the neediest families in the village of Charkaya in the Hadjer Lamis region in Chad, benefiting 1,200 individuals, as part of the project to support food security in Chad for the year 2024.

The assistance is part of a series of humanitarian projects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia implements through KSrelief to help countries and people worldwide.

Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs: Gulf-Yemeni Relations Are Fraternal, Solid, and Well-Established -2

HE Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi said that the convening of the joint ministerial meeting between the GCC and the Republic of Yemen comes as an extension of the directives of Their Majesties and Highnesses the leaders of the GCC countries and HE the President of Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council regarding deepening the partnership between the two sides, enhancing aspects of cooperation, coordinating consultations and reviewing the progress achieved in all areas of cooperation between the two sides to enhance security and stability in brotherly Yemen and achieve prosperity and well-being for its people.

In his speech during the meeting, His Excellency affirmed the full support for the Presidential Leadership Council headed by HE Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi and the entities supporting him to achieve security and stability in Yemen and reach a comprehensive political solution in accordance with the Gulf initiative and its implementation mechanism, the outc
omes of the comprehensive national dialogue conference, and the Security Council resolution 2216.

He pointed to the continued efforts made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman to support the efforts of the United Nations, led by its special envoy to Yemen, aimed at signing the road map agreement between the Yemeni parties and engaging in consultations under the auspices of the United Nations to attain the desired peace, although the Houthi militias continue with the military option by carrying out attacks on international shipping lines and targeting commercial ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, and that despite their undertakings to the UN Secretary-General’s envoy to Yemen in December 2023 for a complete ceasefire, taking measures to improve living conditions, and resuming an inter-Yemeni political process.

The GCC Secretary General praised the Yemeni government’s commitment and adherence to the UN truce declared in April 2022, though the Houthi militias continued to expand the
scope of their military operations in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden targeting commercial ships in addition to sending military reinforcements to major internal fronts.

He said that the GCC countries are committed to continuing to support the brotherly Yemeni people in all fields, especially in economic, development and humanitarian domains, as the GCC countries represent the largest international donors to Yemen and have provided it with more than 37 billion dollars, including: economic and developmental support since 2006 and relief and humanitarian assistance since 2015, provided through the office for coordination of relief and humanitarian aid granted by the GCC to the Republic of Yemen, the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid, and relief organizations in the GCC countries.

He pointed out that, in implementation of the decisions of the esteemed Supreme Council of the GCC regarding supporting the Republic of Yemen in the economic and development aspect, the GCC General Secretariat hoste
d the twenty-first meeting of the joint committee to determine the development needs of the Republic of Yemen in January 2024, in which the GCC countries, the development funds affiliated with the Cooperation Council, the regional funds, the United Nations Development Program, and the GCC General Secretariat took part to coordinate support and efforts with regard to development projects. The projects submitted by the Republic of Yemen were also discussed, and a list of urgent priority projects was identified. Also, a team was formed to study the urgent needs and urgent projects, with the participation of the United Nations Development Program to provide all support to the Republic of Yemen in presenting studies and setting priorities.

KSrelief-Funded Ambulance Service in Lebanon’s Miniyeh Conducts 57 Missions Last Week


Beirut, The Ambulance Service of Subul Al Salam Social Society in the Miniyeh region, northern Lebanon, carried out 57 ambulance missions last week, funded by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief).

The missions varied between transporting patients to and from hospitals and providing ambulance services for road accident casualties in Miniyeh city.

This falls within the framework of the project supporting ambulance services and transportation in refugee and host communities in Lebanon.

Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Meets with Uruguayan Foreign Minister


San Jose: Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Cabinet Member, and Climate Affairs Envoy Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir met with Foreign Minister of Uruguay Omar Paganini in the Costa Rican capital, San Jose, on the sidelines of a high-level event on ocean action.

During the meeting, they discussed relations and ways to develop and enhance them, in addition to addressing key international developments of mutual interest.

The meeting saw the attendance of Saudi Ambassador to the Republic of Peru Dr. Hassan Al-Ansari.

Qatar Takes Part in Arab League’s Consultative Meeting on Regional Arab Cooperation Forums

The State of Qatar has participated in a consultative meeting at the level of the permanent delegates to the Arab League, held at the headquarters of the Arab League’s General Secretariat in Cairo on the topic of evaluating the Arab cooperation forums with states and regional blocs.

Acting Charge d’Affaires of the Permanent Mission of the State of Qatar to the Arab League, Maryam Ahmad Al Shibi, represented the State of Qatar in the meeting.

The meeting discussed the member states’ perspectives on the Arab cooperation forums with states and regional blocs with the aim of effectively and positively coordinating the collective efforts, in addition to forging solid partnerships, serving issues of shared concern, and reinforcing cooperation in this respect.

The participants underscored the importance of setting an overall strategy that includes determined executive objectives and mechanisms to ensure accomplishing the intended goals of these forums in the future. Also, they deemed this convention as a critical
step on the track of strengthening cooperation and outreach among the Arab nations, states, and regional blocs.

KSrelief Launches Fish Landing Center in Yemen’s Al-Mahrah Governorate


Al-Mahrah, The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) launched the Fish Landing Center in Al-Hawseen district in Al-Mahrah governorate, Yemen, on Thursday. This initiative is part of the emergency support project to protect livelihoods based on agriculture, livestock, and fisheries for populations affected by the humanitarian crisis in Yemen, in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

The center aims to revitalize the marine fishing sector by increasing fish production and improving the living standards and income of fishermen, their families, and all workers involved in marketing, selling, and exporting fish. The President of the General Authority for Fisheries praised KSrelief’s efforts in supporting the fisheries sector, which will help alleviate the suffering of fishermen affected by humanitarian crises and natural disasters.

This initiative is part of the humanitarian and relief projects provided by the Kingdom through KSrelief, aimed at
enhancing food security and supporting farmers and livestock in various cities and provinces across Yemen.

QFFD Signs an MOU to Support of Silatech’s Projects in Yemen

Doha: Given the role of economic empowerment and youth employment in achieving sustainable development and poverty eradication, Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) and the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation in the Republic of Yemen sign an MOU to facilitate the ongoing projects of Silatech in Yemen.

The “MUSTAQBALAK” and “Support to Youth Entrepreneurship and Financial Inclusion” (SYEFI II) projects are initiatives dedicated to enhancing the economic opportunities and financial inclusion for over 98,385 young Yemenis, ensuring their access to necessary resources for sustainable employment through entrepreneurship. This MOU exemplifies a shared vision to empower the youth of Yemen by investing in their potential through tailored economic programs to their needs.

The signing ceremony which took place in Doha was graced by QFFD Acting Director General, Sultan bin Ahmed Al Aseeri and HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Yemen Shaya Mohsin Zindani.

Silatech’s initiatives in Yemen have
been transformative for thousands of young people across the country. Makkah: The Presidency for Religious Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques has announced that Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sudais will be the imam leading the Eid Al-Adha prayer and deliver the Eid sermon at the Grand Mosque of Makkah.

Sheikh Dr. Khalid Al-Muhanna will be the imam leading the Eid Al-Adha prayer and deliver the Eid sermon at the Prophet’s Mosque.

GCC Calls for Decisive International Action to Stop Israeli Occupation’s Crimes Against Palestinians

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) condemned the brutal Israeli occupation attack on the Nuseirat camp in the Gaza Strip, during which the occupation slaughtered and injured hundreds of defenseless Palestinian civilians, calling on the international community to stop these repeated crimes.

Secretary-General of GCC Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi said in a statement today that this attack is a heinous and terrorist crime that targeted innocent, defenseless people with unprecedented brutality. He stressed that this barbaric aggression reveals the true face of the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) and demonstrates their complete disregard for all international conventions and humanitarian values, noting that this heinous crime is part of a series of attacks launched by Israel, which systematically targets Palestinians.
