GEA Issues over 1,673 Licenses for Entertainment Activities during First Quarter of 2024


Riyadh: The General Entertainment Authority (GEA) issued more than 1,673 licenses for various entertainment activities during the first quarter of 2024, signaling an increase of 28% from the same period last year.

The licenses the GEA issued included all entertainment and supporting activities, particularly entertainment events and shows, and live shows in restaurants, cafes, amusement parks, and entertainment centers, operating entertainment facilities, managing the work of artistic and entertainment talents, organizing and managing crowds, and selling tickets for entertainment activities. It also issued 97 licenses for new entertainment destinations.

The entertainment events the authority licensed during the first quarter of this year covered various regions in the Kingdom, with the city of Riyadh witnessing 216 entertainment events, Makkah 101 events, the Eastern Province 76 events, the Qassim region 37 events, followed by Asir and Jazan which hosted region 23 and 16 events, respectively. The total numbe
r of visitors to the events in all regions of the Kingdom reached more than 11 million.

Saudi Attorney General Participates in ECO Meeting of His Counterparts in Tajikistan


Dushanbe, Saudi Attorney General Sheikh Saud bin Abdullah Al-Mujib participated in the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) member states’ fifth meeting of attorneys general, being held in the capital of Tajikistan from May 15. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the guest of honor at the ECO meeting.

Sheikh Al-Mujib arrived in Dushanbe for the meeting at the official invitation of his counterpart, Republic of Tajikistan Attorney General Rahmon Yusuf Ahmadzod.

CST Holds Panel Discussion on ‘Digital Innovations for Sustainable Development’


Riyadh: The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) has held a panel discussion on digital innovations for sustainable development, in conjunction with the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (WTISD) which celebrates ‘Digital Innovation for Sustainable Development,’ with the participation of an elite group of sustainability experts across the Kingdom’s sectors.

The session, moderated by CST Deputy Governor for Strategy and Digital Naif Sheshah, showcased digital innovations and their impact on achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs) and reviewed experiences and lessons learned from using technologies, as well as collaboration in the field digital sustainability.

Group head of technology at Red Sea Global Dr. Ahmed Alsohaily emphasized that sustainability is the heart of all the company’s projects, and a means for its destinations’ excellence that attract visitors from around the world.

CST is keeping up with the WTISD through its strategic partnership with the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) to achieve joint goals and raise awareness of the potential and success stories that promote digital innovation and achieve the SDGs.

TGA Enhances Intercity Bus Transport Services for This Year’s Pilgrims


Riyadh: The Transport General Authority (TGA) announced a significant improvement in intercity bus transportation services for pilgrims undertaking Hajj 1445 AH. The initiative coincides with the approaching Hajj season and aims to provide safe and reliable options for pilgrims wishing to travel by land.

Pilgrims can utilize intercity transport buses operated by three leading companies: North West Company, Darb Al-Watan Company, and Sat Company. They will provide transportation for pilgrims to Makkah during the Hajj season, specifically from Dhu al-Qa’dah 1 to 15, covering both the Hajj period and return journeys.

The services are available across more than 205 locations throughout the Kingdom, offering pilgrims extensive accessibility. Over 200 daily departures to Makkah ensure pilgrims can easily find convenient travel options.

This initiative by the TGA aims to achieve several key goals. First and foremost, it provides reliable and secure transportation for people undertaking the Hajj.

Additionally, it
works to meet the high demand for transportation services that typically arises during the Hajj season. Finally, it grants pilgrims more flexibility by offering a wider range of travel options to reach Makkah.

Gambian President Meets with KSrelief Volunteer Medical Team


Banjul, Gambian President Adama Barrow on Wednesday received the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid (KSrelief) Director of the Volunteer Programs Department and head of the voluntary medical team Ali bin Saad Al-Qarni and members of the delegation participating in in the two volunteer medical campaigns to remove women’s tumors and perform specialized medical surgeries for children.

During the meeting, the Gambian President presented certificates of gratitude and appreciation to the volunteer medical delegation, in appreciation of their efforts in implementing the two volunteer medical projects and helping the sick and injured.

Gambian First Lady Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow presented a memorial shield to Al-Qarni in appreciation of KSrelief efforts in volunteer and humanitarian work and its contribution to alleviating the suffering of the Gambian people.

The project comes as part of the volunteer medical campaigns implemented by the Kingdom through the center to treat patients and injured people
with limited income in brotherly and friendly countries, and to achieve the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030, which focused on consolidating positive values among members of Saudi society.

KSrelief Delivers 10 Tons of Dates as a Gift to Hellenic Republic


Athens, The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) today delivered a gift of 10 tons of dates from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Republic of Greece. The gift was delivered on behalf of the center by the Saudi Ambassador to the Hellenic Republic, Dr. Saad bin Abdulrahman Al-Ammar, in the presence of a representative of the Ministry of Finance and a team from the KSrelief at the Saudi embassy in the capital, Athens.

The gift comes within the programs provided by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to reach the neediest families in various places of the world.
