CEO of SFD Participates in OPEC Fund Development Forum, Meets with Several Officials

Vienna: The CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), Sultan bin Abdulrahman Al-Marshad, took part in Vienna’s OPEC Fund Development Forum today. The forum discussed development conditions and ways to support developing countries in achieving sustainable development goals and addressing current global development challenges. During the forum, Al-Marshad met with the President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Dr. Julius Maada Wonie Bio, to review the Fund’s activities in financing development projects and programs in Sierra Leone. They also discussed ways to enhance cooperation in development. Additionally, he met with the Sri Lankan State Minister of Finance, Shehan Semasinghe; the Minister of State for Financial Affairs of the Maldives, Hussain Adam; and the Minister of Finance of Somalia, Bihi Egeh. In these meetings, they discussed common development issues in SFD-funded projects, ways to enhance development cooperation, and reviewed development relations between the Fund and the relevant countries.

r about 50 years, the SFD has contributed to financing development projects and programs in vital sectors in Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives. This support aims to foster social growth and economic prosperity in the beneficiary communities and contribute to achieving sustainable development.
