Makkah: The General Directorate of Civil Defense, since the beginning of the Hajj season 1445 AH, has strengthened the tasks and work of its teams and preventive efforts to ensure readiness and availability of safety requirements and procedures in pilgrim camps and all sites, speedy response with high efficiency to incidents, and increase preventive awareness and adherence to public safety principles.
In line with the directives of the Kingdom’s leadership to provide pilgrims with all services and ensure their comfort and safety, the directorate has established 30 seasonal centers to maintain the safety and security of pilgrims and has also implemented workshops and awareness-raising programs for Hajj services providers and organizers from outside the Kingdom.
The Directorate has also increased the capabilities of its field centers and civil defense units and teams to enable them to perform their tasks to the fullest level, in coordination with concerned authorities to implement the general emergency plan f
or Hajj and to use field protection monitoring techniques at Mina holy site, besides participating in exhibitions to raise awareness about modern emergency response techniques and maintain the safety of pilgrims in Makkah, Madinah and the holy sites.
The Directorate has also intensified fieldwork in the Arafa site in preparation for receiving pilgrims on the ninth day of Dhul-Hijjah. It has deployed preventive survey teams to follow up on the construction and electrical work in the tents, inspect exits and corridors, and determine preventive supervision sites, using the latest technologies and the most advanced equipment for the security and safety of pilgrims.
