Jeddah: During the days of Eid Al-Adha 1445 AH, the Jeddah Municipality thwarted the smuggling of 1,243 unfit sacrificed heads of livestock at five inspection points through border crossings. It seized 109 vehicles transporting these heads in violation of preservation and storage requirements.
The Jeddah Municipality noted that inspection teams in the southern municipalities of Umm Al-Salam, Taiba, and Bryman, along with the Department of Slaughterhouses and Public Markets, and with the support of security agencies, managed to seize and confiscate 1,225 sacrificed heads of livestock unfit for human consumption at approved inspection points at the border crossings.
Also, the municipality removed 409 illegal enclosures and 527 illegal slaughterhouses and moved 1,594 vehicles engaged in unauthorized sheep sales.
